Guy’s Record-Setting Bowling Game Is Mind Blowing

For most of us bowling, we’re happy to break 100 in a game.  This avid bowler did better than that; he made a world record-setting bowling game!

New York bowler, Ben Ketola, set out to garner a perfect bowling score (300 points in 12 rounds). However, a perfect score wasn’t enough – Ben wanted to beat the current time recorded for completing the task as well.

In 2015, professional bowler Tom Daugherty, performed the task in 1 minute, 50.99 seconds!  Having seen a video of Tom’s incredible skill, Ketola who works at 281 Bowl decided that he would give it his best shot.  Ketola, has spent a little time on the lanes honing his skills.  Bowling 50 games a week, he is no stranger to “practice makes perfect”.

On April 5, Ben’s co-worker, John Bishop offered to video while Ben set out to bowl the perfect game as quickly as possible. With amazing precision, he tackled 12 strikes in 1 minute, 26.9 seconds. Let’s reword that for impact – 86.9 seconds!

“It was fun to do. I honestly wasn’t expecting to do it,” he told Syracuse.com “I just wanted to see how quickly I could get across the house and get strikes.”

Currently, there is no time category in the official United States Bowling Congress’ record books.  If there were, Ben would be giving everyone a run for their money! Not to stop the fun there, he says maybe his next challenge will be to see how many strikes he can claim in 12 frames. We look forward to seeing him complete a new bowling challenge!
