She’s Knitting Wool Boobs For Breast Cancer Survivors

This lovely woman named Sharon, volunteers for a non profit organization called “Knitted Knockers” in the UK. This organization is devoted to knitting wool boobs for breast cancer survivors who have had a mastectomy. Even more amazing is the fact that they are absolutely free. They even offer aqua knockers which can be worn while swimming. Giving women another choice that doesn’t involve surgery or a heavy prosthesis, and allows them to regain their confidence.

Being a survivor herself, she understands first hand the effect this disease has on women.  She has such a heart of gold. Her positive outlook and sense of humor is refreshing and endearing. Sharon will be coming up on her 5th year of being cancer free.

Was it fun being bald? No. But I saved a fortune on shampoo!

Her reason and purpose behind knitting  is to make life better for women having to deal with this horrible disease. With the help of other volunteers, who have cleverly called themselves “Knockerettes”, they knit up to 300 boobs per month. She and her team are truly inspirational women.
