Family Adopts 20-Year-Old Cat – Says Farewell

The Williams family went to their local shelter to adopt a kitten. But while they were there they fell in love with an senior sweetie named Dexter who was a 20-year-old cat. And while many people may not have adopted the toothless cat with the flattened ears, the Williams crew knew that he was meant to be part of their family. They also understood that younger kitties have a better chance at being adopted than older cats, and that they might be Dexter’s last chance at happiness.

Dexter bonded not just with their two young sons, but also with their three sweet dogs.

On Jill’s YouTube channel she writes, “Dexter is a 20 year old cat who was rescued from a hoarding situation. You might think a toothless old cat this old in failing health would just want to be left alone. But Dexter craves attention. Especially from his two new human brothers: Harry (age 7) and JJ (age 5). It’s never too late to save a life. There are so many great animals waiting to find their forever home in shelters across the country.”

Dexter brought the family much joy for the next two years.

And then, sadly, after enjoying his life to the fullest, Dexter crossed over the rainbow bridge.

“We will never forget the love and happiness he gave in his very short time with our family, Jill Williams said. “Rest in peace, Dexter.”
