The Walt Disney World Employee Behind This Mystery Has Been Found
What started as a Facebook post to thank the Walt Disney World Employee who helped their daughter and her friend quickly became an internet-wide man-hunt.
Glenn O’Neill posted that his family had gone to Disney World with their daughter, 7yr old Eliza who suffers from Sanfilippo disease. This “childhood Alzheimer’s” causes dementia-like symptoms usually by age 5.
Eliza and her friend, Kierra, who also has the same disease, were resting near an area where characters were greeting park goers… in a very long line. Eliza’s favorite character, Doc McStuffins was part of this meet-and-greet. Sadly, the girls were not able to wait in the line to see the characters up close.
That’s when something special happened. Glenn said he looked over and realized that Doc McStuffins was holding his daughter’s hand.
Following close behind were several other characters, including Jake from the Neverland Pirates! The father was in complete shock, he had not gotten in line or asked anyone for this to happen.
Does Anyone Recognize This Disney World Employee?
According to Glenn’s description there were so many people around that it would have been impossible for the characters to know Eliza and Kierra were even there. That’s when he noticed the Disney employee who had made this happen. The family was not able to catch his name in order to give him their thanks for making such a special moment happen for their girls. So Glenn turned to social media to see if someone might recognize the man.

And “share” they did! With over 4,000 likes and nearly 1600 shares, Glenn’s Facebook post about the girls’ Disney experience took off. Not long after his post, tips leading to the compassionate Disney worker came flooding in. His name is Roberto Sierra and he’s a Character Captain at Disney. Roberto saw the Facebook post and responded:
“I am grateful I was able to add to your magical memories here at Disney. We as cast members are here to make magic and that’s what we do. Thank you for spending time with us. Seeing the joy the characters created is all the thanks I need :)”
The Moment Got Sweeter
When the characters came over to his daughter, Glenn said he was instantly worried about the reaction of those who had waited in line for so long. But when he glanced over he saw the best response. Parents and children smiling, parent’s explaining that Eliza and Kierra needed to see Doc first, and the support of total strangers. Their reactions made the moment that much sweeter for Glenn and his family. And the moment was thanks to Roberto who saw a need and met it.
Glenn O’Neill recently told Frank Sommerville of KTVU:
“We got a call from Disney today and they wanted to let us know that the story made it to Jim MacPhee, a senior VP at Disney, and apparently a global email went out about Roberto’s kind act….really cool.”
